Founder's Message
A Call to Build Dignity, Opportunity & Hope Together
Dear Friends,
To truly serve one’s community is the greatest privilege. Our journey has been humbling, challenging, and profoundly transformative. It fuels an unwavering drive to create meaningful change to those who have been systematically underserved. As a nurse, my calling has always extended beyond the hospital walls—into the homes, schools, and villages where healing begins.
During the pandemic, in 2022, we launched Undugu Empowerment Programs (UEP) to confront the deep barriers of poverty through our integrated pillars: menstrual dignity, education access, AGYW & Youth Economic empowerment. What began as a heartfelt vision has grown into a powerful force for change. Bringing tangible support, voices, and hope to underserved communities across rural communities in Wesstern Kenya. Today, my promise remains firm: to help shape a world where women, adolescent girls, and youth can live dignified, healthy, and opportunity-filled lives. In many ways, this work continues my lifelong commitment to healing beyond the hospital walls. Strengthening communities and empowering individuals before they lose hope. At UEP, we envision a future where every person, regardless of geography, income, or circumstance, has the chance to be self-sufficient and thrive. Transforming a community is much like tending a garden; it requires patience, resources, and shared commitment of people who care deeply about social justice and possibility.
You are an essential part of that commitment. Your partnership, encouragement, and belief in our mission provide the fertile ground for real transformation. Join us as we advance this vital work. Together, we can build a healthier, more equitable world—one Girl, one Youth, one Mother, one Family, and one Community at a time.
Warmly,
Immaculate Wesonga
