Our Projects

UEP has transitioned from a project-based approach to a programmed-based one, aiming to better serve the needs of vulnerable residence of Butula Sub-county. This shift will enhance coordination and synergy-building across projects and cross-cutting functions, while bolstering implementation and cost-effectiveness. UEP’s core mandate is now delivered through 4 programs, supported by operational functions and social enterprises.

Sista Plus Project

This is our core project focusing primarily on menstrual hygiene mentorship and advocacy among AGYW of low-income communities. The project aims to END PERIOD POVERTY and STIGMA by producing reusable sanitary towels at OUR GIRL PAD CENTRE and distributing to AGYW of low-income communities. Schoolgirls get kit free kits while out-of-school girls buy the kits at subsidy prize to support our production. The project advances its advocacy through workshops at our centre, in communities and schools. We restructured the project into a social enterprise named SISTA+ to generate funds for the organization. Check out our business page: https://www.sista-plus.org
